Walton County issues temporary beach bonfire permits, and it’s easier than you think to get one. These permits allow accepted applicants to have a beach bonfire on Gulf front beach property for one night and cost $100. Applications can be submitted to the South Walton Fire District and must be approved before the bonfire can take place. Also note these offices are closed on all federal holidays, so plan in advance. These permits grant allowance for the fire, but do not include any equipment or material. As a result, applicants must provide their own burning materials and fire containers, as well as any chairs or other desired equipment.
